Self-edit and write simultaneously when answering SAT esssay questions in an SAT essay because there is nothing worse than getting a low score because of silly errors that could have been avoided.  It may seem an impossible thing to accomplish when writing against the clock, expressing and explaining an opinion and giving examples.  However, it is something that can be learnt and is done regularly by journalists because there is no time to get a story out and rewrite it.  An article, even feature length, has to be letter perfect just like an SAT essay.

·Use the last sentence of each paragraph to introduce the next paragraph – create a bridge between the current paragraph and the one following it

·Use the introductory paragraph as a guide for the closing or concluding paragraph

·Summarize and rewrite the first sentence of the introductory paragraph as the first sentence of the concluding paragraph

·Summarize and conclude the SAT essay answers to the SAT questions in the order they were originally presented in the introductory paragraph

·Correct mistakes before writing them by focusing on the writing and the techniques of composition, grammar, punctuation, spelling, example presentation and flow whilst writing each word

·Always answer the SAT questions through the use of these questions – what, where, when, how and why

Writing and self-editing can be done when creating an SAT essay based on SAT questions.  By preparing in advance by understanding language usage, grammar, punctuation and the techniques of good quality writing it is possible to present an SAT essay that is not only organized, logical and interesting, but free of unnecessary errors that could bring SAT essay scores down dramatically.
